respected sir/madams hello.

How do you know we are respected? :)

dessertations

Yeah, you cannot even spell the word "dissertation." And you still claim you can write one?

2000 dollars

on which hourly rate is this figure based?

i assume it's close to $15

I guess some companies and people are afraid of posting their real information in such forums as these forums have many malicious people. Negative publicity whether its true or false is bad for business.
If I had a company of my own, I wouldn't use my real contacts in such forums..
Richie  EssayChatJan 26, 2011
In fact 2000 dollars is on the higher side

Depends if it's an individual freelancer or a company (that may charge $60-100 per hour or more! : (
designer  EssayChatJan 26, 2011
I'd say at least 4-5 times as much

Not true.. these days websites don't cost that much..

In fact 2000 dollars is on the higher side

how much to design a good website for writers?

Jan 26, 2011
What's the cost to build a website for writers, good one? Better to work with contractor or hire a design company? How much do you think a site like ukessays.com could cost (i know it's on the very expensive side but any idea would be helpful).

anonymous writers

Jan 26, 2011
The problem with anonymous writers from random emails is this - if they screw you (e.g. plagiarize your paper or don't send it at all) you have little chances of getting your money back AND letting other prospective clients know about their scam operations. Sure, you can post their email and warn others, but by that time you do that they have 10 other anonymous @gmail.com or @yahoo.com email accounts ready. It works very similar to Nigerian scam (and it's not a coincidence that many of those "academic writers" are actually based in African countries).
smirk  EssayChatJan 26, 2011
That's what I've sent to almost every company I can think of, essay writing or not

the key word here is "company"

you've been sending these data to the companies, not to anonymous email addresses

So far, these guys are responding to messages here and not writing like ESL scammers.

We do not pay $2 and $3 as stated below.

does this look like a professional response?
AmonsEssays  EssayChatJan 26, 2011
Is it a coincidence most spammers or fraudsters use the @gmail.com email address (thinking that @gmail.com address is legit?) Why don't they provide the website's address (probably becoz it would be easy to prove they are foreign people trying to provide writing services for US/UK-based students)

Or they want a spam filter, or g-mail provides industry-level solutions (several universities use it now even though they tend to append their domain name), or... I agree it's a BIT suspicious, but it's not a immediate run-away-from indicator. So far, these guys are responding to messages here and not writing like ESL scammers.
AmonsEssays  EssayChatJan 26, 2011
This is totally reasonable. That's what I've sent to almost every company I can think of, essay writing or not.
AmonsEssays  EssayChatJan 26, 2011
But you get what you pay for (ESL piece full of errors and plagiarized).. Usually.

I'd agree.
Richie  EssayChatJan 26, 2011
Hire independent contractors to do the work for you...

Its cheaper and more convenient.

But you get what you pay for (ESL piece full of errors and plagiarized).. Usually.

anyone with experience with uk essays and uk academia?

Jan 26, 2011
they any good or even legit?
Richie  EssayChatJan 25, 2011
my main point is that the email address is telling quite less than the post itself

I have to agree... ; )

alright

Jan 25, 2011
Actually that's not the case (I didn't check it but I'm sure that was not the case yet a couple of months ago when I last checked it). Gmail makes all Ips local while from Yahoo you can still get the original-IP information.

i don't feel like testing it to make sure, i'll take your word instead

however, my main point is that the email address is telling quite less than the post itself
Richie  EssayChatJan 25, 2011
if you go to yahoo website and email me through the web interface, i'll be unable to see you ip address, i'll only see the ip address of one of the yahoo servers

actually know that when they use Google account their real IP will be hidden

i'm not getting your point

let's see

you have a yahoo email account and you use it to email me

if you go to yahoo website and email me through the web interface, i'll be unable to see you ip address, i'll only see the ip address of one of the yahoo servers

if you use an email client (outlook, thunderbird, etc) i'll see the ip address of your isp
Richie  EssayChatJan 25, 2011
as to the topic, the very fact of using free email service cannot tell much, but the reluctance to provide any info about the company and more than vague price quotes can tell really a lot

Right. In addition, most scammers actually know that when they use Google account their real IP will be hidden so it's not possible to quickly determine their real country location.

alice's job offer

Jan 25, 2011
those, interested in this offer, please don't bother to create new threads like "*****.com doesn't pay the writers"

you know what you are going to get into:

In the application letter do include:
-Your CV
-List of companies that you have worked for
-Topics/ Subjects that you can undertake
-Your suggested price for 300 words ( only realistic prices will be considered)
-Your best samples

why didn't they ask for your billing info a top of all that?

the company asks you to provide quite a lot, while telling nothing in return

We do not pay $2 and $3 as stated below.

this is NOT professional

even if the prices are lower than anyone here can imagine, a response could have looked like "we'll provide the exact price range in personal correspondence"

apply and you'll be dealing with someone, who can barely write English and doesn't seem to have a slightest idea of business ethics

and .yahoo.com or aol.com don't quite cut it

i was kidding here

Right, but the most "sophisticated" ones, i.e. the ones using the latest technology, tend to use @gmail.com address (powered by Google)

you are closer to the truth than you could imagine ;)

the thing is that developing your own mail server is a real pain in the #$@& , this can take several months and delay the launch. google's api offers a nice solution, which is employed by almost 80% of websites on the internet (i'm not referring to the writing industry specifically)

not going into much tech detail: when you get an email from whatever@domain.com, it is technically a gmail account, just fine-tuned a bit

as to the topic, the very fact of using free email service cannot tell much, but the reluctance to provide any info about the company and more than vague price quotes can tell really a lot
