Literature review

As per the article by Cutter it is known that chronic pain and addiction which is referred to as opioid dependence is very harmful for the mental and the physical health of an individual's body. Opioid dependence is brought about from chronic pain and when it becomes addictive for an individual it is referred to as addiction as the individual finds a dependence on that pain relieving drug and could not get over the drug v Opioid creates morphine like effect and thereby many individuals who have chronic pain tend to take this and those drugs that have high doze of opioid so that they can feel relieved but this relief is temporary and again when the action of the opioid starts decreasing the individual tend to take more dozes of opioid. This is a harmful and an illegal way of pain management (Cutter et al., 2018). As per Cutter opioid is a class of drug that contains illegal drug, heroin, fentanyl and other pan relieving which are very strong and helps in creating a morphine like effect. The impact of this in the body is very harmful and can be fatal in many cases as well.

As per the author Compton, Jones & Baldwin chronic pain and addiction can be treated through the use of effective means like counseling, healthy lifestyle approach, health fitness exercise, motivational approach and others and these are productive and fruitful ways as well in order to treat and manage this chronic pain and dependence on opioid. It is stated here that opioid which are also known as narcotics are often prescribed by doctors in special cases like acute pain, severe pain condition and unbearable pain situation and this is generally prescribed to the patient or an individual in form of some medicine that has pain relieving power (Compton, Jones & Baldwin, 2016). Continuous and prolonged use of the opioids can lead to addiction and also a condition where the effect of opioid that is meant to relieve the pain or decrease the pain will become inactive and ineffective (Compton, Jones & Baldwin, 2016). This then becomes a habit and disrupts the normal day to day life condition and health (Cutter et al., 2018). Proper form of medication, counseling and also family support can help the situation and also can help the aspect of addiction (Compton, Jones & Baldwin, 2016). Chronic pain is a long term aspect and in order to address the pain proper medication and long term solution is required which cannot be derived from short term fix like addiction to harmful morphine related drugs, heroine and other high doze pain killers or pain relievers. The prospect of addiction and chronic pain becomes interrelated when opioids are used and the aim or the priority in that case is proper main management approach and also mediation, counseling and other health related activities.

Methodology

This section mainly talks about the research methods that would be used in order to know about the issues related with addiction and also the approaches or the best possible strategies to address chronic pain in a healthy and productive way (Compton, Jones & Baldwin, 2016). The below given are the research methods that are used-

Primary research will be taken into account and this is based on use of research approaches or methods like survey, interview, questioning session and others on the selected group of participants and the target group of participants including people who are suffering from chronic pain, the health professionals, the ones who are on opioid use and some others (Compton, Jones & Baldwin, 2016). Primary research method is based on gathering first hand idea and answer and knowledge and thereby the participants will be asked questions and the answers or the responses will be all fist hand and more authentic which will help in presentation of the research paper (Shah, Hayes & Martin, 2017). The primary research method is related with quantitative data analysis approach and this gives an idea of how many people are into addiction how many have chronic pain and others.

Secondary research method is also used in this context and this is based on the use of peer reviewed articles, journals, texts and readings and these are all based on different aspects of chronic pain and addiction and also about opioid dependence (Shah, Hayes & Martin, 2017). The readings and the knowledge will help in having an enriched idea and knowhow that what are the harmful effects of opioid and how chronic pain can actually be managed through legal and effective ways and how the addiction aspect gets related or connected with chronic pain (Shah, Hayes & Martin, 2017). The secondary data investigation process is associated with qualitative data analysis approach and this is all about having an implementation of qualitative understanding of all the readings and all the facts and all the knowledge that are gathered from the journals, the texts and also from the research papers of other authors on this same topic (Shah, Hayes & Martin, 2017). The qualitative understanding helps in getting a detailed knowledge and also helps in having an understanding of all the relevant issues (Cutter et al., 2018).

Conclusion

The research paper thereby presents all the important elements and presents the paper categorically that helps in understanding of the topic, chronic pain and addiction.
